This report provides observations and key findings from our research into the effectiveness of Aotearoa New Zealand’s domestic fire and general insurers’ claims processes during the NIWE, which took place in early 2023. Overall, insurers demonstrated that they have incorporated learnings from previous significant events and are working to further adapt their processes to improve the claims experience for consumers.
