Zavrox and associated websites – Fake Bitcoin giveaways, advance fee scam

We are aware of videos posted on social media featuring celebrities, making fake free Bitcoin offers when signing up with Zavrox (www.zavrox.com). These are not legitimate offers.

We have identified a large number of duplicate websites of Zavrox that operate the same scam.

How the scam works:

  • Fake videos featuring a celebrity (for example Elon Musk) are posted on social media, offering 0.31 free Bitcoins when signing up for an account with Zavrox or any of its duplicate websites with a special promotion code;
  • 0.31 Bitcoins are received into the user’s account immediately after signing up;
  • When the user attempts to withdraw the free Bitcoins, they are required to make a small payment in Bitcoin as fees;
  • No Bitcoins are withdrawn or sent to the user’s nominated wallet address after paying the fees.
  • Scammers are using a “free gift” tactic in their scam process. There are no actual free Bitcoin giveaways.

We recommend caution when seeing videos or articles that feature celebrities or politicians that make “too good to be true” offers as described above.
