Blokchain.co.com – Phishing scam impersonating Blockchain.com

The FMA is warning investors about a phishing scam impersonating the Blockchain.com cryptocurrency exchange. Scammers are using Google advertisements to promote a fake version of Blockchain.com’s login screen. When a victim enters their login details, scammers take the passwords and use them to access the victim’s Blockchain.com accounts.

When Blockchain.com users search for “Blockchain” or “Blockchain.com”, a link to the phishing website is often the first result they will see. Because the scammers often use paid advertisements, their phishing websites will usually appear at the top of the search results, before the link to the official Blockchain.com website.

How to avoid being scammed

Be careful when logging in to your cryptocurrency exchange, bank, or other financial service provider accounts. Carefully check the website address before entering your password. If possible, enter the website address yourself rather than relying on links in search results.
