We are aware that a large number of New Zealand residents have invested in Texitcoin and are actively promoting the scheme within New Zealand.
Texitcoin’s mining packages may be considered financial products under New Zealand law, and the associated services may qualify as financial services. These products and services may require Texitcoin to be registered and licensed. However, Texitcoin is neither registered nor licensed in New Zealand.
On 11 February 2026, the Texas State Securities Board issued a Cease and Desist Order against Texitcoin, its associated entities, and its founder, Robert J. Gray.
View the Cease and Desist Order.
The order was issued on the following grounds:
- The mining packages were offered in breach of U.S. legislation;
- Fraud in connection with the offer of the mining packages;
- Materially misleading and deceptive practices relating to the promotion and sale of the mining packages
We strongly recommend that all Texitcoin promoters cease any promotional activities in New Zealand as they are promoting high-risk products and services operated by overseas entities that are not protected under New Zealand law.
