NOTICE: Expiry dates on all FMC Act licenses to be removed
The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) is to remove the expiry dates for all licenses issued under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 in a process expected to be complete by the middle of 2019.
Open-ended terms will apply to all new and existing licenses, unless an expiry date is specified on a case by case basis. More detailed information, see our news release.
Consequently, in accordance with section 403(1) of the FMC Act, the FMA will vary the Specific Condition progressively from all licences under the FMC Act.
Given the large number of licensees, we will prioritise those licences that have an earlier expiry date. We expect to have completed the variation for all relevant FMC Act licences by 30 June 2019.
When the process of variation of your licence is completed you will receive a revised licence certificate. You will also receive notification that the Financial Service Providers Register has been amended.
We will update the Licensed providers Register on our website progressively.
The following businesses/people have been granted a licence or have been authorised by the FMA. It's important to only deal with licensed people and businesses because if things go wrong you will have access to free dispute resolution services. Find out further details including the provider's business address, list of services and the name of their independent dispute resolution scheme on the Financial Service Providers Register.
